– Hỏi về tên:

Tell us your name, please.

How do you spell your name?

– Hỏi ai đó học lớp nào: What class + to be + S + in?

Trả lời: S + to be + in + class…

– Hỏi tuổi ai đó: How old + to be + S?

Trả lời: S + to be + tuổi.

Cấu trúc

– Hỏi về ai đó: Who + to be + S?

Trả lời: S + to be + danh từ.

– Lưu ý cách dùng động từ to be:

He/She/It/Danh từ số ít/1 tên riêng duy nhất + is

We/You/They/Danh từ số nhiều/2 tên riêng trở lên + are

– Thì hiện tại tiếp diến thể khẳng định và phủ định:

Khẳng định: S + to be + V-ing.

Phủ định: S + to be + not + V-ing.

– Miêu tả trang phục ai đó:

S + to be (+not) + wearing + danh từ.

S + to be + the … + in the ….

Cấu trúc

– Hỏi đáp về ngoại hình của ai đó: What + do/does + S + look like?

Trả lời: S + to be + tính từ miêu tả ngoại hình.

– Nói về ngoại hình của ai/cái gì với have/has got: S + have/has got + danh từ.

Lưu ý: He/She/It/Danh từ số ít/1 tên riêng duy nhất + has got

We/You/They/Danh từ số nhiều/2 tên riêng trở lên + have got

– Hỏi đáp về tính cách của ai đó: What do you think about …?

Trả lời: I think + S + to be + tính từ.

Cấu trúc

– Cấu trúc nói có cái gì để dùng vào việc gì: S + have/has + danh từ + to V…

– Thì hiện tại tiếp diến thể khẳng định và phủ định:

Khẳng định: S + to be + V-ing.

Phủ định: S + to be + not + V-ing.

– Câu cầu khiến với “can”: Can you + động từ nguyên thể, please?

Trả lời:

Yes, I can.

No, I can’t

Cấu trúc

– Nói có/không có cái gì với there is (not)/there are (not):

There is/isn’t + a/an + danh từ số ít.

There are + danh từ số nhiều.

There aren’t + any + danh từ số nhiều.

– Dạng nghi vấn:

Is there + a/an + danh từ số ít (+ địa điểm)?

Are there + any + danh từ số nhiều (+ địa điểm)?

Trả lời:

Yes, there is/are.

No, there isn’t/aren’t.

– Hỏi vị trí của địa điểm nào đó: Where’s + địa điểm?

Trả lời: It’s + vị trí.

Cấu trúc

– Hỏi về nơi ở:

+ Kiểu nhà: Do you live in a … or a ….?

+ Địa chỉ:

What’s your address?

It’s + địa chỉ.

– Nói về những thứ em muốn trong ngôi nhà mơ ước của mình: I want … for the dream house.

– Phân biệt cách dùng cấu trúc There is (not) – There are (not):

There is (not): dùng cho danh từ số ít, danh từ không đếm được.

There are (not): dùng cho danh từ đếm được số nhiều.

– Phân biệt much – many – a lot of:

much: dùng cho danh từ số ít, danh từ không đếm được.

many: dùng cho danh từ đếm được số nhiều.

a lot of: dùng được cho cả danh từ không đếm được và danh từ đếm được số nhiều.

– Hỏi ai đó muốn ăn/uống gì một cách lịch sự: What would you like to eat/drink?

Trả lời: I’d like some + danh từ, please.

– Gọi món: Can I have …, please?

Trả lời: Sure./Here you are./Anything else?
